Production Coordinator 1st Shift

Position Summary: The Production Coordinator is responsible for opening and managing production orders, ensuring accurate documentation, inventory control, and system integrity throughout the lifecycle of each project. This role works closely with the Plant Manager and Operations Manager to support daily production activities, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Production Order & Documentation Management

• Open and manage production orders for all projects.
• Create and maintain folders for each project, including all required daily production paperwork.
• Prepare production paperwork for all days of production in advance.
• Create all required system forms for new projects.
• Review new project worksheets to ensure accurate and complete information; revise or remove unrelated details to create a clear, coherent project scope.

Project Closeout & Inventory Control

• Prepare orders for closure by verifying projects are complete and all required products are pulled.
• Reconcile production folders upon project completion.
• Deduct inventory used within Excel for each project.
• Manage and conduct physical inventories for materials ordered.

Reporting, Quality, and Compliance

• Issue and report quality projects and/or rework activities for the Distribution Center.
• Run and distribute daily production reports.
• Complete weekly sanitation audits for the production floor.
• Perform mock recalls twice per year.
• Identify and correct system and paperwork errors to maintain accurate data entry and reporting.

Training & Systems Support

• Train new employees on proper system operations and documentation requirements.
• Perform transactions within customer systems as requested.

Operational Support

• Assist the Plant Manager and supervisor with daily operational tasks, including creating and maintaining the daily production schedule and developing estimates for new projects, as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel and production tracking systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Experience with inventory control, production documentation, and reporting preferred.
• Knowledge of quality, sanitation, and audit processes a plus.
