Eaton is hiring: Production Scheduler in Carol Stream

Eaton’s Vehicle Group, Power Connections business, is currently seeking a Production Scheduler to join our team.

Salary range: $67,500.00 – $99,000.00 per year. This salary is a general guideline and varies based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications.

Position Overview

The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing the production plan to satisfy customer demand while maintaining effective inventory levels. The planner will provide a monthly production plan aligned with plant capacity and sales forecasts, determine desired inventory for finished goods down to pack size including safety stock, and collaborate with Opex Manager, Operations, Materials, Toolroom, Customer Service, and Management to meet business goals.

In This Role You Will

• Identify daily production outputs necessary to meet the Master Schedule.
• Focus on optimization of run quantities, minimum changeover, and achievement of 100% On Time Delivery.
• Identify capacity constraints to the Manufacturing and Production team.
• Maintain data integrity of the scheduling system in support of corporate goals and objectives.
• Track metrics and generate monthly reports for key business performance indicators related to logistics and manufacturing process execution.
• Compile and analyze weekly/monthly shipping reporting metrics and perform plant production analysis.
• Follow and revise procedures required to support the operation execution process and scheduling applications.
• Help monitor raw material levels to ensure production uptime.
• Interface with customer service/production team to provide product delivery support to customers.
• Serve as the primary contact for production information requests and provide support for shipping dates and other information as requested.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Opex Manager.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university; or high school degree with 3+ years related manufacturing experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience using Oracle Advanced Planning Systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP).
• 2 years experience in master production scheduling.
• Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes.
• Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements.
• Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts arising from multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, strong Excel skill set a plus.
• Attention to detail, analytical abilities, and ability to recommend productivity enhancements.
• Proven ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; Excel/Pivot skills.
• Excellent mathematical skills, including ability to apply concepts such as probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
