Production Trainer
Location & Shift
Fort Wayne area, Indiana – Night shift (2/3/3 swing, 7pm to 7am)
Base Pay Range
$22.00/hr – $30.00/hr
Responsibilities
- Assist the Training Coordinator by updating all training materials, including presentations, manuals, checklists, and hands‑on exercises covering all aspects of production roles.
- Cross‑train employees on different machines or processes to enhance flexibility and career growth.
- Provide one‑on‑one coaching and mentorship to employees, offering constructive feedback and support to improve performance.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date training records, including employee certifications, training completion dates, and training assessments.
- Work with the Training Coordinator and management to assess the effectiveness of training programs and measure employee progress post‑training.
- Continuously improve the training curriculum by staying current with industry best practices, new technologies, and process changes.
- Collaborate with the Training Coordinator, Production Supervisors, Maintenance, and Quality teams to ensure on‑the‑job training is completed effectively and efficiently while aligning with operational goals and company standards.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification as a trainer in any applicable subject is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing or production environment. Prior experience in training, mentoring, or supervisory roles is highly preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the production facility, and occasionally lift up to 25‑50 pounds.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment.
- Excellent attendance and performance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) or similar software. Paylocity or similar LMS experience is a plus.
- Ability to present information clearly and effectively to diverse groups of learners.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping others learn and succeed.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee records.
