Position
Production Trainer
Location & Shift Fort Wayne area, Indiana – Night shift (2/3/3 swing, 7pm to 7am)
Base Pay Range $22.00/hr – $30.00/hr
Responsibilities
Assist the Training Coordinator by updating all training materials, including presentations, manuals, checklists, and hands‑on exercises covering all aspects of production roles.
Cross‑train employees on different machines or processes to enhance flexibility and career growth.
Provide one‑on‑one coaching and mentorship to employees, offering constructive feedback and support to improve performance.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date training records, including employee certifications, training completion dates, and training assessments.
Work with the Training Coordinator and management to assess the effectiveness of training programs and measure employee progress post‑training.
Continuously improve the training curriculum by staying current with industry best practices, new technologies, and process changes.
Collaborate with the Training Coordinator, Production Supervisors, Maintenance, and Quality teams to ensure on‑the‑job training is completed effectively and efficiently while aligning with operational goals and company standards.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification as a trainer in any applicable subject is a plus.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing or production environment. Prior experience in training, mentoring, or supervisory roles is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the production facility, and occasionally lift up to 25‑50 pounds.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment.
Excellent attendance and performance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) or similar software. Paylocity or similar LMS experience is a plus.
Ability to present information clearly and effectively to diverse groups of learners.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping others learn and succeed.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee records.
