Planner/Scheduler
A Planner/Scheduler successfully coordinates the scheduling, for assigned Work Centers, to ensure customer demands are able to be met while ensuring the accuracy of the manufacturing schedule for their Work Centers and provides excellent customer service and responsiveness to everyone, both internal and external.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Review and process daily Planners workbench, for assigned Work Centers; ensure proper scheduling of materials for production in accordance with customer demands and equipment availability.
- Daily review/creation of Dispatch reports for your Work Centers.
- Daily communication with the shop Managers and Personnel.
- Expedited Materials and/or Job Orders, as required by internal and external customer demands.
- Monitor jobs, for your work centers, to ensure adherence to assigned schedule and communicate jobs that are unable to meet assigned production dates to Customer Service and Management.
- Daily review and communication of Customer On-Time report and Job Material Shortage Reports.
- Work with the Shop Managers/Supervisors to create and enter Material/Operation Routings.
- Ensure ERP system dates and schedules are accurate and up to date for your work centers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, get along with co‑workers, and deal with colleagues effectively and professionally.
- A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Ability to effectively interact with all members of the organization is required.
- High school‑level math and problem‑solving skills are required.
- Three to five years Planning and/or Inventory experience in a manufacturing environment with multiple production processes is highly desired.
- Problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills with a strong attention to detail are desired.
- Ability to multi‑task and handle multiple projects at one time without sacrificing quality of work is desired.
- Good understanding of scheduling concepts, practices, and procedures is desired.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Past work with ERP systems and APS or MRP is desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite – including excellent Excel skills is desired.
