Customer Service Specialist

Position at RI International. This role is a core front‑line position that supports the Recovery Innovations program by acting as the main receptionist, providing routine clerical and administrative support, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company policies.

Base Pay

$18.00/hr – $19.00/hr

Job Overview

Our mission is to empower people on their journey to recovery. The Customer Service Specialist works within a high‑velocity office environment, interfacing daily with callers, clients, and staff. The role requires strong organizational skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to navigate complex federal and state regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guest Care & Advocacy
    • Answer telephones, triage calls, gather and log data needed for each interaction.
    • Perform initial registration and input client data into the computer system.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Assist in gathering data for billing and audit functions.
    • Stay current with all federal and state regulations, as well as Recovery Innovations policies.
    • Follow code of conduct and conflict of interest policies consistently.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    • Oversee use, maintenance, and repair of office equipment.
    • Maintain petty cash and ensure accurate records.
  • Additional Duties
    • Perform routine typing, filing, copying, and faxing.
    • Maintain an organized, confidential office filing system.
    • Keep reception areas neat and orderly at all times.
    • Assist with ordering and stocking office supplies as needed.
    • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of one year of clerical or office experience.
  • Skills
    • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Effective verbal and written communication.
    • High degree of accuracy and organisational ability.
    • Customer‑service oriented, working cooperatively in a team.
    • Must pass de‑escalation training (state‑defined).
  • Driving Requirements
    • If driving is required, meet all Recovery Innovations driving policy requirements.
    • If not qualified to drive, a Non‑Driver Attestation form must be signed.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Minimum age 18 (or state‑specific minimum); travel may be required.
    • Maintain high confidentiality (HIPAA) and professionalism.
    • Second‑Chance Employer: must pass background, substance‑abuse testing, education verification, fingerprint clearance, and, if driving, a three‑year motor vehicle record.

Physical Demands

Work close to the eyes; frequent sitting, standing, walking; handling & finger dexterity; lift up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment

Office and behavioral health facility; may interact with agitated or confused individuals.
