Housekeeper

Full time, 40 hours per week, hourly position. 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. MISSION AND NEED:
Holy Family Institute (HFI) is a 125-year-old Catholic organization with an impeccable history of serving children and families in the Pittsburgh Region. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Housekeeper helps maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for unaccompanied minors living in the shelter. This position supports the overall health, safety, and well-being of the youth by ensuring all facilities meet agency standards in a trauma to inform care. General Duties
Support and uphold the mission and vision of the Holy Family Institute.
Maintain a trauma-informed approach at all times
Communicate clearly and respectfully with staff and youth.
Work collaboratively and demonstrate strong teamwork skills.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Good communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks.
Clean program of houses, classrooms, breakrooms, stairways, elevators, bathrooms, and other assigned areas.
Complete routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, disinfecting, and restocking.
Follow proper trash disposal procedures, including regular and recycling requirements.
Perform laundry duties related to children's intakes.
Maintain infection-control practices according to regulations to reduce the spread of illness.
Keep all assigned areas organized, safe, and inspection-ready in alignment with state, ORR, and agency standards.
Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies, disinfectants, and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized.
Ability to work well with others and support a team-driven environment.
Report any damage, safety hazards, or malfunctioning equipment to supervisors/Coordinators and Operations Manager promptly.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift to 25 pounds.
Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs throughout the shift.
Ability to push/pull cleaning carts and equipment
Professional Conduct
Reliability and punctuality.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Flexibility to adjust to changing needs in a shelter environment.
Respond to reasonable requests and concerns with professionalism and patience.
Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, and request replacements when needed.
Follow all health, safety, and agency policies.
Provide consistent and respectful customer service.
Training and Compliance
Complete all required agency, program, and regulatory training courses.
Follow ORR, DPW, and internal shelter guidelines at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
1 year of housekeeping preferred
Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license
Act 33/34 and FBI clearances required.
