Job Duties & Essential Functions
Develop and implement systems to ensure accurate and timely entry of billing information into the billing platform
Supervise the revenue cycle team across core functions including account management, insurance communications, collections, cash posting, contract analysis, accounts receivable (AR) follow-up, and billing
Manage staff performance through regular feedback, performance evaluations, and one-on-one coaching sessions
Review and assess financial hardship applications in accordance with organizational policies
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of revenue cycle staff
Address and resolve patient concerns related to billing and collections in a timely and professional manner
Plan and structure departmental workflows and staffing needs to maximize efficiency and productivity
Conduct regular audits to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures in compliance with payer and regulatory requirements
Special projects and other duties assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a medical billing environment, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory role.
Proficient in medical billing and practice management software; strong computer literacy required.
Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and revenue cycle operations.
In-depth knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, private insurance policies, CPT, and ICD-10 coding standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in computer systems, including Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Professional demeanor with a commitment to treating patients, staff, and colleagues with respect and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of iMedicWare
Bilingual in English and Spanish, or fluency in other languages
Familiarity with multi-state healthcare billing compliance and requirements
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday
Salary Range
$65,000–$90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and geographic location.
