is seeking an experienced

General Manager 4

for Mess Hall 1460 in

29 Palms, CA

which is located in the beautiful Mohave Desert, next to Joshua Tree National Park.

Sodexo has partnered with the US Marines to transform their food service into a fresh and exciting culinary program to enhance the lives of Marines and other base personnel. This position will manage a mess hall with Marine Cooks and Sodexo staff on 29 Palms, in California. The Food Operations Manager will manage daily operation in a Dining Hall serving approximately 1,500 meals daily. This position will manage a staff of 40 employees, while ensuring quality operations, and providing excellent customer service.

What You’ll Do

Work to achieve company and client financial targets and goals.

Work to achieve high quality customer and client satisfaction.

Be responsible for implementing and executing programs and processes.

Ensure compliance with contract: food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.

Meet or exceed Sodexo standards of operations with quality of food and programs.

Create a positive environment and successfully motivate and manage the team.

What You Bring

A strong customer focus, exceptional communication and organizational skills, and management experience in a food service environment.

Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast‑paced food production role.

Ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Prior experience supervising managers and supervisors, and managing Profit and Loss (food and labor cost).

ServSafe certification with a working knowledge of HACCP and experience with health and safety audits.

Qualifications & Requirements Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
