Network Deploy Technician, ID Deploy Optical Team AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You'll join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Key Job Responsibilities

Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects

Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles

Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low‑level application interaction

Up to 30% travel within geographical work area is required; some travel outside the traditional work area, including internationally, may be requested

Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords

Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment

Participate in migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware

Move and lift computer equipment up to 40 lbs

Availability to work in an environment that operates 24/7

Basic Qualifications

High school or equivalent diploma

1+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience

Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers

Preferred Qualifications

Data center experience with industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+)

Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment

Experience with common tools related to network troubleshooting, including VFLs, OTDR, and power meters

Understanding of infrastructure technologies, including routers, switches, load balancers and firewalls

Knowledge of major command line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common networking protocols (BGP, OSPF)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,600 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $113,200 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
