Job Overview Amazon is hiring a Network Deploy Technician who will work independently in a dynamic environment to maintain stability, support next‑generation networks, and help automate and scale our network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Scale support for multiple data‑center locations and manage day‑to‑day capacity.
Work with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution, as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.
Leverage experience supporting large‑scale, enterprise‑class networks for implementation and troubleshooting.
Operate in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction.
Establish and follow best practices, and refine operational procedures for AWS’s vast network infrastructure.
Manage work through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
Diagnose networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including device configuration and low‑level application interaction.
Travel up to 20% within the geographic work area; additional travel, including internationally, may be requested.
Diagnose cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and cords.
Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking for new equipment.
Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
Physical Requirements
Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
Work in a 24/7 environment, including primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed.
Operate in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments.
Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
1+ year of experience in IT roles such as Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, Data Center Operations, or Technical Project Management.
Preferred Qualifications
Data‑center experience and industry‑standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+).
Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment.
Experience with tools such as VFLs, OTDR, and power meters.
Understanding of infrastructure technologies, including routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls.
Familiarity with command‑line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and networking protocols (BGP, OSPF).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. Base pay for this position ranges from $50,600/year in our lowest market to $113,200/year in our highest market.
