Business Development Manager | Luxury Residential Interior Design Short Hills, NJ | Hybrid Working Style

We are hiring on behalf of a highly respected, design-driven residential interior design firm serving an affluent, design-savvy clientele. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Business Development professional who thrives in relationship-based selling, understands the luxury ecosystem, and is energized by opening doors to meaningful, long-term partnerships.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating new business from high-net-worth individuals while cultivating strategic referral relationships with professionals and organizations that support affluent households—including luxury home builders, developers, realtors, private wealth advisors, architects, art dealers, concierge firms, and nonprofit organizations with upscale donor bases.

What You’ll Do

Build, nurture, and maintain a robust referral network within the luxury residential and lifestyle ecosystem, including builders, developers, architects, engineers, realtors, financial advisors, art consultants, and other high-end service providers

Actively prospect and identify new high-net-worth clients and strategic partners through thoughtful research and targeted outreach

Execute consistent, high-quality outbound business development efforts and manage a healthy, forward-moving pipeline

Serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients and partners, delivering a concierge-level experience aligned with a luxury brand

Attend and represent the firm at industry events, galas, fundraisers, design shows, and social gatherings where affluent clients and Centers of Influence are present

Manage opportunities from initial outreach through warm handoff to the design team

Collaborate on partnership initiatives and outreach strategies to support long-term market expansion

Analyze market opportunities, competitive activity, and emerging luxury lifestyle trends

Maintain accurate and organized CRM records and reporting

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction, Architecture, Historic Preservation, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree strongly preferred)

Minimum of 5 years of successful sales or business development experience

Proven experience leading complex sales processes involving multiple stakeholders and decision-makers

Demonstrated success prospecting, qualifying, and closing new accounts

An established network of Centers of Influence within luxury real estate, development, architecture, engineering, or related industries

Experience working in a fast-paced, deliverable-driven environment

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms

Exceptional organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
