Job Title Senior Software Engineer – 2325670
Location 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55334. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S.
Duties Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Demonstrate strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing; communicate with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe data modeling decisions and data engineering strategy. Administer applications in public cloud; build and deploy applications to the cloud using cloud‑native services; work with microservice‑based architecture such as containers and container‑orchestration tools; build deployment pipelines for CI/CD; build automation for monitoring and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack; create a startup mentality to accelerate the introduction of new capabilities and transform teams. Pro‑actively identify needs/priorities of audience and provide relevant information when sharing insights, including facts and explanation of decision‑making criteria; lead technology decisions, drive product implementation and delivery; provide technical solutions, architecture, design patterns along with project estimates and timelines; review code and provide feedback on best practices, reusable code frameworks, industry benchmarks and performance improvements. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers on best practices in data engineering; provide end‑to‑end life cycle management from inception to delivery including proposals, estimates, team formations, coordination, development, execution and support.
Requirements Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in an Engineering‑related occupation. Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following:
ETL Tools such as Databricks Spark, Python, PySpark, and Snowflake;
Cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS;
Monitoring and Logging such as Prometheus, Frafan, or ELK Stack;
CI/CD and Development operations such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, or Kubernetes;
Data Modeling and documentation such as Microsoft Visio, Daw.io, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft OneNote;
Workflow orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Apache Airflow, and Databricks workflows;
Public Cloud such as HDInsight, EventHub, Event Grid, Azure Functions, or Serverless ETL.
Rate of Pay $134,870 – $191,520 /year
