Job Description The Accountant III position primarily supports accounting functions and provides administrative support as needed across the Grants division. This position will perform various accounting duties over the College's grants, ensuring that grant records are accurately maintained in accordance with both College rules and grant & governmental regulations.
Responsibilities
Administer general ledger grant accounts, including creation of new grants and maintenance of incumbent ones.
Ensure that all information is accurate and complete in grants and make GL adjustments as necessary, such as expense transfers and overheads.
Monitor revenues and expenses for multiple grants.
Payroll and fringe recording and related adjustments.
Reconcile with state records and appropriations.
Compile assigned audit schedules and other supporting schedules.
Troubleshoot errors and questionable items as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Three years of full‑time or equivalent part‑time professional experience in accounting or auditing.
Ability to think critically and problem‑solve.
Keen attention to detail.
Excellent project management, organization, and time‑management skills.
Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or closely related field.
Experience working in a higher education or nonprofit environment.
Additional Information Salary: $2,422.89 biweekly ($62,995.14 annual). Grade 18, Full Time Benefited position.
