Job Description The primary responsibility of the tutor is to provide one-on-one or group support to students in an equitable fashion who are currently enrolled in English, Literature, and ESL courses.
Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic assignments.
Demonstrating academic best practices for specific subjects and assignments, including research and writing.
Working with students to help them understand key concepts, especially those learned in the classroom.
Providing students positive and constructive feedback.
Building meaningful connections with students from diverse backgrounds.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, Communications, Literature, Education or a related area is required.
A Master's degree is preferred.
1+ years of tutoring experience preferred.
The tutor is needed Tuesday and Friday 9am to 5pm in-person.
Ability to work independently.
Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
Additional Information
Hourly Rate: $35.31 (part-time, non-benefited)
Hours: Up to 18.5 hours per week
