Primary Services is actively recruiting for the role of
MRO Sourcing Specialist
to support a large, publicly traded utility organization. This position plays a critical role within a high‑volume, regulated environment, partnering closely with business units, strategic sourcing, and suppliers to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost‑effective procurement operations. The
MRO Sourcing Specialist
will contribute to both day‑to‑day purchasing execution and longer‑term process improvement initiatives across the enterprise.
Base pay range $45.00/hr - $51.00/hr
Responsibilities
Process purchase requisitions for materials and services into purchase orders using qualified suppliers and competitive pricing.
Research and evaluate potential sources of supply and conduct RFQs in alignment with supply chain policies.
Communicate directly with suppliers throughout RFQ, selection, ordering, and fulfillment activities.
Coordinate with strategic sourcing teams to support strategic agreements and identify sourcing opportunities.
Collaborate with internal requisitioners to align purchasing requirements with supplier capabilities and delivery timelines.
Monitor, track, and report cost savings and procurement performance metrics with business units.
Manage supplier delivery confirmations, performance issues, and invoice processing to support procure‑to‑pay execution.
Update and maintain blanket and outline agreements to ensure accurate pricing and contract terms.
Ensure compliance with established procurement processes, procedures, and controls.
Identify opportunities for enterprise‑wide sourcing initiatives based on demand and agreement utilization.
Support outage planning and project‑based procurement activities, including milestone tracking and reporting.
Provide coaching and mentoring to junior procurement staff.
Lead operational procurement process improvements, metrics development, and business‑driven initiatives.
Travel up to 25% to support business needs, suppliers, and project activities.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required.
5 or more years of professional procurement experience.
Demonstrated negotiation experience in operational or sourcing environments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Excel and Power BI.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
5–7 years of sourcing experience within regulated or large‑scale operational spend categories preferred.
Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
CPSM or other Institute for Supply Management certification preferred.
Prior procurement experience supporting power generation, corporate services, IT, marketing, or similar categories preferred.
