Responsibilities

Plan and execute recreational activities based on the needs and interests of the residents

Encourage social interaction and communication between the residents through group recreation, and community interaction programs

Facilitate recreational programs on an individual and group basis

Provide individual intervention to residents based on personal needs and conditions

Record resident attendance and participation level at recreation programs, write progress notes, and attend care plan meetings as necessary

Assist with admission assessments, MDS, care plans, and progress notes

Qualifications

Must hold a CTRS or ADC certification

Bachelor's Degree from an approved school in Recreational Therapy or a related field

Must be a qualified recreation therapy specialist with three years' experience in a healthcare setting
