Job Description Summary

As part of customer equipment, facilities, or infrastructure projects, this role is responsible for end-to-end project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through effective management of project-related activities and resources. The role supports departmental operations planning and execution, with a strong focus on project controls within a technical discipline.

The position operates with a degree of autonomy, guided by established policies and reviews of end results. Procedures and practices may be adapted as long as outcomes meet required standards for quality, volume, and timeliness.

Work Model

Hybrid:

2–3 days onsite per week; remote on remaining days

Working Hours:

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Travel:

10–15% domestic

Mission Ensure effective planning, scheduling, and cost control across projects to drive successful execution, transparency, and financial performance.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities Overall Responsibilities

Build integrated tender schedules and cost estimates

Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets using approved cost and scheduling tools

Ensure compliance with global project controls standards and processes

Support Project Managers in aligning project budgets with “as sold” values in appropriate systems

Maintain and update project schedules and cost forecasts throughout the project lifecycle

Analyze schedule and cost trends; provide accurate forecasts to the project team

Maintain registers for schedule risks, cost risks, actual costs, and committed costs

Monitor cost movements and validate estimates against scope, progress, productivity, and prior forecasts

Communicate schedule and cost status, forecasts, and risks to functional cost owners and support mitigation actions

Provide internal and external project reporting on project status

Collaborate with third-party partners on project schedules and cost management

Present financial data transparently during project and management reviews

Prepare change order calculations to ensure accurate schedule and cost impacts

Update approved changes in relevant systems to maintain cost alignment

Coordinate with Finance to ensure reconciliation between approved project data and financial records

Support project close-out activities, claims, and tenders

Oversee planning activities and ensure high quality of project control reporting

Ensure accuracy of budgets, actuals, and forecasts

Drive cost-reduction strategies in collaboration with functional stakeholders

Ensure alignment with established standards (WBS, processes, procedures, tools)

Promote efficiency and effectiveness of the project cost control team where applicable

Quality & Lean

Comply with quality procedures, work instructions, and project controls processes

Identify, report, and resolve non-conformances in a timely manner

Identify opportunities for standardization and process optimization

Participate in Lean, Kaizen, or continuous improvement initiatives

Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

Demonstrate commitment to safety through active participation and engagement

Adhere to all safe working procedures and safety instructions

Participate in identifying and resolving safety issues

Initiate actions to improve health and safety where needed

Qualifications & Experience Planning Skills

Proactively identify and engage key stakeholders for planning inputs

Clearly understand project scope by reviewing contracts and working closely with Project and Construction Managers

Drive scope decomposition and schedule alignment with functional leaders

Translate scope, constraints, assumptions, and risks into detailed project schedules

Demonstrate strong proficiency in scheduling tools, including task logic, dependencies, and WBS structures

Identify and manage critical paths and schedule variances using multiple baselines (contractual, target, forecast)

Establish and manage an effective project planning rhythm, including cadence, stakeholders, and deliverables

Understand contractual impacts of schedule management, including delays and forensic analysis

Tools & Systems

Strong experience with planning tools such as

Primavera P6

and

MS Project

Familiarity with cost management concepts, structures, and reporting

Understanding of cost tracking, variance analysis, and financial systems (e.g., ERP tools such as SAP)

Knowledge of invoice tracking and cost approval processes

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college

High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Deep domain expertise in project planning and Primavera

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desired Knowledge & Experience

5+ years planning large, complex turnkey projects

Experience providing cost control on multiple large turnkey projects

Lead Planner experience on at least two turnkey projects

Strong understanding of cost control functions for complex projects

Experience with forensic schedule and cost analysis

Proven ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex project issues

Demonstrated project management and stakeholder engagement skills
