Senior Mechanical Engineer, Material Handling Equipment
Denali Advanced Integration is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for automation and material‑handling projects, including conveyor systems, inspection, and labeling subsystems. The role involves developing mechanical architecture from concept to final drawing release, collaborating with cross‑functional teams and contributing to system performance and innovative design.

Base Pay Range $140,000.00/yr – $150,000.00/yr
Essential Functions
Lead mechanical design and integration of material‑handling and automation subsystems.
Develop mechanical layouts, frames, guarding, mechanisms, and modular equipment interfaces.
Design transitions between conveyors and other equipment and produce fabrication‑ready drawings.
Integrate subsystems from multiple vendors, ensuring correct mechanical interfaces.
Translate system requirements into clear mechanical specifications.
Contribute mechanical solutions that improve flow and reduce bottlenecks.
Participate in concept development, brainstorming, early‑stage modeling, and layout iteration.
Evaluate mechanical concepts and improve system performance.
Create fabrication‑ready prints with correct tolerances and manufacturing notes.
Coordinate with fabrication partners to clarify design intent.
Lead design and implementation of large‑scale mechanical systems.
Architect mechanical layouts, frames, guarding, mechanisms, and modular platforms.
Perform advanced troubleshooting on complex mechanical failures.
Develop mechanical design standards and documentation.
Train, mentor, and support engineers and technical staff.
Work with vendors, review proposals, and approve technical deliverables.
Ensure system reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with specifications.

Work Environment This position is based in a professional office setting and utilizes computers, smartphones, printers, and collaboration tools.
Physical Demands The role requires regular verbal and written communication, sitting at a workstation 75% of the time, occasional movement, and occasional lifting of equipment boxes up to 25 pounds.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5–10 years of experience in mechanical engineering and design.
Qualifications
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
Expert‑level CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Inventor, Onshape) and mechanical system design.
Strong understanding of process flow and automation equipment.
Basic understanding of mechanical interfaces with automation controls.
Ability to evaluate system throughput and improve performance.
Experience working with controls, software, and vision engineers.
Experience leading mechanical projects and support commissioning/startups.
Proficiency with PDM/PLM tools (SolidWorks PDM, Windchill).
Competence with engineering analysis tools (FEA, mechanism simulation).
Proven advanced troubleshooting and system optimization capability.
Ability to develop mechanical standards and documentation.
Leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
