Position Overview We are adding Senior Mechanical Engineers to support the design of greenfield and brownfield power plant projects across North America.
The role requires detailed design of balance‑of‑plant systems and piping for large utility‑scale power plants.

Our Power district includes structural, civil, piping, mechanical, process, safety, electrical, instrument, and control disciplines.
We focus on construction‑driven, EPC delivery of power facilities.
Location Positions are available at Lenexa, KS; Lone Tree, CO; Houston, TX; Raleigh, NC; Phoenix/Tempe, AZ; New York City, NY; or Woodcliff Lake, NJ.
Remote work is available for contractors in Chattanooga, TN; Detroit, MI; or Richmond, VA until an office is established.
Responsibilities
Perform high‑complexity engineering designs, including analysis, calculations, research, and equipment selection for EPC projects from conceptual through detailed design.
Develop mechanical piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) for power plant systems such as steam cycles, boiler feed, condensate, water treatment, flue gas, hydrogen, fuel handling, heat transfer systems, and utility systems.
Prepare sizing calculations and specifications for major equipment, including boilers, condensers, cooling towers, tanks, blowers and pumps.
Create mechanical engineering designs, drawings, As‑Builds, systems specifications, equipment lists, general arrangements, auxiliary power demands, and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
Prepare procurement packages, conduct technical bid evaluation from vendors, and support vendor selection.
Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, industry codes and standards to projects.
Check design deliverables against industry codes, contract requirements, and company standards.
Prepare necessary mechanical documentation for construction.
Assist in developing schedules, work assignments, and staffing requirements to ensure project success.
Coordinate with other drafters, designers, and engineers, reviewing work progress and results.
Provide technical mentoring and oversight to junior engineers.
Balance multiple engineering tasks simultaneously.
Lead design projects or portions of design projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) from a U.S. ABET‑accredited institution.
At least 8 years of mechanical‑engineering design experience in power‑generation applications.
Current professional engineer (PE) license or active in the licensing process.
Highly motivated with a passion for excellence and initiative.
Strong work ethic, with commitment to quality and timeliness.
Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
Safety‑first mindset, ensuring protection of personnel.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Team player who can work independently to meet deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits Base Compensation: $100,000 yr – $104,000 yr (actual compensation varies by education, experience, skill set, and location).
