Overview The Effector RF Products Department is seeking a Lab Lead. This individual will collaborate closely with other Lab Leads, Engineering staff, and Technicians to ensure the Engineering Labs adhere to established company policies and provide hardware development support to program teams. The Lab Lead owns the quality and performance of the department’s Engineering Labs.
What You Will Do
Lead day‑to‑day operation of Engineering Labs with focus on safety, compliance, security, improvement, and program support.
Manage Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) management and provide direction for lab users on established policies.
Coordinate and implement Environmental Health and Safety standards.
Track, manage, and calibrate company and customer‑owned property.
Maintain and improve lab access list and training matrices, ensuring all personnel are properly trained and cleared.
Uphold company policies to ensure a safe and secure lab environment.
Develop, understand, and implement common lab processes, tools, templates, and metrics.
Communicate issues and opportunities for improvement to team members and management.
Oversee audit assessment preparation and develop corrective action plans.
Safeguard classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation.
Adhere to the RTX Code of Conduct by exhibiting respect and ethical behavior.
Conduct audits (Environmental Health and Safety, Security, Lab Quality, Customer, Equipment).
Qualifications You Must Have
Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
Experience managing compliance in an Engineering environment.
Experience creating and managing processes in an Engineering environment.
Experience managing Environmental Health and Safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or related field.
Experience with chemical handling, metrology, and property control processes.
Strong organizational, coordination, planning, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Exemplary oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Situational awareness, strong emotional intelligence, and ability to work multiple projects simultaneously.
Leadership behaviors and willingness to embrace change.
Experience developing solutions and maintaining audit readiness procedures and goals.
Experience working directly with engineers, technicians, and leadership in an engineering lab environment.
Experience with EHS, NISPOM, and Foreign Object Elimination processes.
Advanced theoretical knowledge of work area.
