Job Title: ETL/SQL QA Tester

Position Summary This hybrid role requires the ETL/SQL QA Tester must be performed by candidates located within a 60-mile radius of Charlotte, NC. The position focuses on validating data extraction, transformation, and loading processes, as well as performing detailed data analysis and reporting. Strong SQL expertise, experience with large datasets, and hands-on knowledge of ETL tools are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor ETL job execution using scheduling tools such as Autosys and validate end-to-end transformation results.

Perform UI, functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across multiple releases.

Write and execute complex SQL queries involving joins and advanced validation logic.

Develop SQL and Unix scripts to create, manipulate, and validate test datasets.

Document, analyze, and troubleshoot defects across ETL and data workflows.

Use test management tools such as qTest or Octane for test planning and reporting.

Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed test plans and scenarios.

Build or extend automated test frameworks using tools such as Tosca or Selenium.

Collaborate with development, product, and business teams to triage issues and ensure timely resolution.

Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint-level testing strategies.

Promote QA best practices and ensure compliance with documentation and process standards.

Qualifications & Required Skills

5+ years of experience in manual and/or automation testing within data-focused environments.

Strong SQL proficiency for data extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis.

Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data pipeline testing.

Solid understanding of relational databases and data modeling concepts.

Experience with Unix for scripting, navigation, and job validation.

Familiarity with SIT and UAT cycles and end-to-end project workflows.

Agile methodology experience including sprint planning and execution.

Strong communication and documentation skills for cross-team collaboration.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Experience working with large teams and coordinating across multiple stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve data-related issues.

Must be located within a 60-mile radius of Charlotte, NC to meet hybrid onsite requirements.

Data warehousing experience including dimensional modeling and ETL validation.

Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau for data visualization and reporting.

Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits Pay range $55.00 – $61.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
