Assistant Product Manager — Retail Join to apply for the Assistant Product Manager — Retail role at Sherwin-Williams.

Responsibilities

Improve brand/product awareness to sales and marketing.

Research and determine end‑user needs for assigned product lines.

Develop and implement new product development for assigned product lines.

Commercialize new products through the established stage‑gate process.

Lead projects for assigned categories, directing technical, global supply chain, marketing, and sales.

Reduce product/expense costs.

Analyze and lead SKU rationalization of assigned products.

Manage product life cycle, developing plans to minimize obsolescence.

Assist in the development of short‑term and long‑term strategic planning.

Coordinate efforts with production planning and forecasting.

Execute plans and projects on‑time and on‑budget.

Analyze competitors’ products and new development with category.

Engage and execute necessary brand activations, including assisting the brand team with website development, reviewing product brochures and sell sheets, and updating in‑store POP.

Commercialize new products and packaging.

Support customer product line reviews, customer application days, business plans, and stage‑gate presentations.

Monitor costs associated with product/brand.

Help prepare demand forecasts, monitor customer/retailer POS data, and recommend pricing adjustments with channel marketing.

Assist in delivering product sales and profit within managed product categories.

Lead communication and training on assigned product lines and new products.

Assist development of sales tools, including training manuals, catalogs, price lists, and brochures.

Qualifications Education

Bachelor’s Degree (required)

Preferred Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field

Knowledge & Experience Required

1‑3 years of prior experience in marketing, sales, channel management, business, and/or product development.

Business experience with progressively more responsibility and a track record of results.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Excellent written and verbal skills.

Experience delivering presentations in a large setting.

Experience leading projects through project‑management tools.

Operates under moderate supervision.

Solid understanding of the general marketing mix (product, place, pricing, promotion, placement).

Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.

Proven record of success working in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred

Experience marketing consumer goods sold through home centers or mass‑market retailers.

Experience in the coatings industry.

Experience in a consumer products industry.

Experience working directly with end‑users to uncover customer needs.

Knowledge of paint/coatings.

Experience managing budgets, budgeting processes, and using budgeting systems like Coupa.

Past product‑management experience.

Travel 10 %
