Position Overview
Superintendents at GCS-SIGAL are responsible for the overall field work on our projects, ensuring that company policies and procedures are met regarding safety, scheduling, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Typical Responsibilities and Duties
Actively maintain a safe work environment and enforce quality control policies
Creatively solve challenges that arise on projects with a positive attitude
Communicate clearly & effectively to clients and subcontractors on the status of the project
Plan, coordinate, and manage job site logistics
Maintain a clear understanding of how daily operations affect project milestones
Thorough understanding of contract documents
Conduct weekly contractor meetings
Maintain daily reports and documentation using Procore
Create, manage, and update the project schedule
Create and implement contingency plans as necessary
Communicate schedule status, updates, and changes to project stakeholders
Oversee project quality plan
Resolve jurisdictional disputes
Experience and Education
BS or MS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
5-10 years of experience on $5+ million interior projects in a superintendent role, or
A combination of education and experience sufficient to succeed as a Superintendent
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excel at teamwork
Be able to effectively communicate in person, on the phone, and via email
Focus on achieving results
Proven ability to multi-task in deadline-driven environment
Knowledgeable of principles of architecture, engineering, and construction
Strong documentation skills
Ability to read specifications, plans, and details
Working knowledge of Procore or similar construction project management software
Working knowledge of construction safety protocols
Proficiency in all division of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
Experience interfacing with clients, architects, owners, and subcontractors
