Unit Secretary - Inpatient Acute Rehab

Overview
Schedule: Days, 7:30am-7:30pm, 12‑hour shifts
Facility: Resurrection Medical Center
Location: Chicago, IL 60631
Responsibilities
Accountable to the Director/Manager and, indirectly, to the Charge Nurse or House Supervisor.
Perform indirect care duties in the department setting and facilitate communication needs.
Transcribe physician orders from records in the absence of CPOE and EMR clinical documentation systems, with notation and signature by nursing staff.
Prepare and comply records on the Emergency Room.
Order supplies for the unit and prepare and complete each patient’s chart for necessary forms needed daily.
Assist nursing staff for duties involving indirect patient care.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience required.
BLS certification (ARC or AHA) within 30 days and maintain current.
Medical terminology preferred.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office preferred.
Previous experience in an acute care setting or physician’s practice preferred.
