Power Generation Data Center Lead
HDR is seeking a Power Generation Data Center Lead to be part of our Power Generation Practice. The candidate will work with our national Power, Power Generation and Technology practice leaders to serve existing clients and develop new clients globally. As part of our Power sector, you’ll help shape how electricity is generated, transmitted and delivered as global energy demands grow. From massive data centers to modernizing transmission systems, our industry‑recognized engineers and scientists have been at the forefront of grid transformation for more than a century. You’ll work side‑by‑side with these experts and contribute to reliable, resilient, and sustainable power systems.
Core Responsibilities
Work closely with leads representing Power Generation, Power Delivery, Data Centers, Due Diligence, and Industrial services.
Provide oversight for the coordination, quality, and timely completion of Power Generation projects or programs in support of data centers.
Serve key roles as necessary in projects and pursuits.
Coordinate the involvement and input of multi‑disciplinary teams in support of development of power generation solutions in support of data centers.
Support client relationships, marketing, project execution, and collaboration meetings.
Present at industry and client events to support HDR brand awareness.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in business or engineering
Expertise in power market and nexus between power and technology with rapid deployment requirements.
Experience supporting large demand customers such as data centers with infrastructure development.
Preferred experience working with a variety of client types including regulated and non‑regulated utilities, independent power producers, municipalities, and other public and private clients.
Knowledge of the electric power system, market participants, energy contracts and transactions, project finance, and utility‑scale and distributed power generation technologies.
Client development and management skills with a strong ability to maintain a high standard of quality.
Demonstrated leadership skills
Ability to travel to in‑person meetings with clients.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field
10 years of related experience
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, and project management software
Excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills
