HDR is seeking a

Power Generation Data Center Lead

to be part of our Power Generation Practice. The person will work with our national Power, Power Generation and Technology practice leaders to serve existing clients and develop new clients globally. The ideal candidate will have experience in development of Power Generation projects in support of data centers and be able to lead multi-disciplined project teams to successful completion of the work. The role requires significant client interaction from pre‑positioning for the work through project completion and collaborative skills for regular interaction between several Market Sectors within HDR.

You enjoy and seek out meaningful client, vendor and colleague relationships and are driven to expand the depth and breadth of how you can partner with them to solve industry and client specific challenges. You have leadership experience and are looking for a leadership position where you can collaborate internally to help drive an exciting time in the data center market. Significant experience with the development, specification, and negotiation of power generation systems for simple cycle, combined cycle, cogeneration, distributed generation, reciprocating engine, combined heat, and power, microgrids and renewable projects, as well as proven ability to plan, schedule and lead complex design and consulting assignments.

Primary Responsibilities The primary duties of the Power Generation Data Center Lead involve leading the Power Generation consulting services in support of data center and mission critical projects through collaboration across several internal organizations, client interaction and leading a multi‑disciplinary team of direct and indirect reports in support of key projects and clients. HDR is a matrix organization, requiring extensive soft skills, internal collaboration, and communication.

Specific responsibilities will include:

Work closely with leads representing Power Generation, Power Delivery, Data Centers, Due Diligence, and Industrial services.

Provide oversight for the coordination, quality, and timely completion of Power Generation projects or programs in support of data centers.

Serve key roles as necessary in projects and pursuits.

Coordinate the involvement and input of multi‑disciplinary teams in support of development of power generation solutions in support of data centers.

Support client relationships, marketing, project execution, and collaboration meetings.

Perform other duties as needed – it is desired that this leader has a specific interest in leading high performing teams and collaborating within the HDR matrix with the goal of supporting our data center response.

Present at industry and client events to support HDR brand awareness.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in business or engineering

Expertise in power market and nexus between power and technology with rapid deployment requirements.

Experience supporting large demand customers such as data centers with infrastructure development.

Preferred experience working with a variety of client types including regulated and non‑regulated utilities, independent power producers, municipalities, and other public and private clients.

Knowledge of the electric power system, market participants, energy contracts and transactions, project finance, and utility‑scale and distributed power generation technologies.

Client development and management skills with a strong ability to maintain a high standard of quality.

Demonstrated leadership skills

Ability to travel to in‑person meetings with clients.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field

10 years related experience

A minimum of 5 years of project management experience

Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software

Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions. Temporary and part‑time roles eligible for limited benefits.) The targeted salary range for this position (based on experience and location) is $169,575 - $232,050.
