As an Optical Network Engineer, you will join Turnberry’s Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today’s digital market. Responsibilities

Build, deploy, and maintain a large-scale optical transport network Lead end-to-end implementation across continuous upgrade cycles-validate designs, coordinate materials and field work, execute change windows with detailed MOPs, and provision services on Nokia PSS, Cisco NCS 2015, and Ciena 6500 platforms Troubleshoot live networks with rigor to avoid customer impact while partnering closely with Provisioning, ENOC, and Operations This is a high-ownership role in a fast-paced environment with 24/7 operational responsibilities and real impact on customer experience Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience deploying and operating optical transport networks (OTN) in carrier-class environments Vendor experience with Nokia PSS, Cisco NCS 2015, and Ciena 6500 (commissioning, provisioning, and troubleshooting) Certifications such as OCP, NONC, OTT, ONP, CONA/CONE; IP certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP) a plus Strong familiarity with OTN, SONET, and DWDM technologies and common service configurations Experience creating and executing detailed MOPs and change requests in controlled maintenance windows Proficiency with routing protocol fundamentals and cross-domain troubleshooting across optical and IP layers Experience in 24/7 operations, on-call rotation, and incident response; ServiceNow or similar ticketing/change tools a plus Scripting/automation for provisioning or validation (e.g., Python, Ansible) is a plus Strong documentation and communication skills Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience (required) Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) (preferred) Industry or vendor-specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.) (preferred) Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $145,000 or the hourly equivalent.
