Opportunity
Seeking a full-time CRNA to join their team in metro Detroit
Start Date : ASAP. Credentialing requires up to 90 days before candidate can start.
Completion of an Accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program is required - Board Certified by American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA)
Outpatient position at an Ambulatory Surgery Center
Mix of 8-10-12 hour shifts with opportunity to transition to longer shifts if desired.
No on call or weekend shifts!
Average number of patients: Varies
Administers intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthetics to render persons insensible to pain during surgical procedures, obstetrical deliveries, or other medical and dental procedures. Potentially administers anesthesia to all ages and A.S.A. classes of patients, including geriatrics and pediatrics. Provides airway management services as needed throughout the hospital
Provides leadership in the professional practice setting
Supports and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues
Delegates tasks to assistive personnel in a respectful professional manner
Identify patient problem and collaborates with the Anesthesia / Surgeon / Perioperative team in the selection of appropriate interventions (tasks)
Interacts with members of the health care team to plan and coordinate the perioperative care
Promotes a healthy work environment through promotion of professional communication standards, commitment to co-workers, and positive problem resolution
Conducts appropriate pre-anesthetic assessments, and document findings.
In collaboration with the Anesthesiologist, determines the appropriate anesthetic plan of management, manages all aspects of anesthesia care to include preoperative, perioperative, and immediate postoperative care
Maintains complete and accurate documentation of care for all procedures.
Provides airway management and / or intubations for emergent, non-emergent, and resuscitation situations throughout the hospital
Anticipates and exceeds patients and customers expectations that meet all elements of the medical facility
Identifies services and care improvement ideas and act on them to create excellent customer experiences
Demonstrates, supports, and assumes personal accountability for consistently upholding team members to the standards across the System and adhering to Henry Ford Health policies and procedures
Recognizes the unique contribution all health care team members contribute to the patient experience.
Independently uses and documents the nursing process to plan, deliver, and evaluate goal focused, individualized, safe, age specific care for all patients including those with complex pathophysiological needs and / or psychosocial needs
Seeks to understand and incorporate both safe practices and evidence-based practices into daily nursing care
Maintains compliance with regulatory standards regarding practice, environment, and documentation
Directs and delegates nursing care based on patient acuity and staff competency that is consistent with the nurse s obligation to provide optimum patient care
Participate in quality improvement / patient safety initiatives and programs
Participates in professional development and continuous learning
Contributes to establishing, maintaining, and improving the work‑place environment that encourages respectful interactions with colleagues, support of peers, and identification of issues that need to be addressed
Maintains knowledge and skills in appropriate technology
Provides education for staff, colleagues, patients, and / or families
Precepts new staff and students as requested
Provides and documents individualized patient and family education
Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty

Ability to work harmoniously in collaborative situations with Anesthesiologists and other health care providers
Frequent walking, bending, lifting may be required to perform duties
Work is generally in an operating room environment, but can be in Radiology, ICU, ER, or wherever nurse anesthesia services are required in the hospital
Working conditions are variable with exposure to communicable diseases and other hazards. Driving may be required, dependent on specialty
