About this Job NORTHEAST DELTA HUMAN SERVICES AUTHORITY MISSION: Serve as a catalyst for individuals with mental health, developmental disabilities, and addictive disorders to help them realize their full human potential by offering quality, excellent care with greater accessibility. Northeast Delta Human Services Authority is seeking a Professional Counselor 2-4 to provide intensive developmental and therapeutic assessment and treatment in serious or complicated cases that require a range of therapeutic and intervention skills.

Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) or a Provisional Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (PLMFT) plus one year of counseling experience.

Job Duties

Works as a part of a treatment team to provide quality care and reduce the stigma surrounding behavioral health (mental health or substance use) treatment.

Plans, prioritizes, and manages clinical treatment services for complex behavioral health cases by completing initial biopsychosocial assessments, annual reassessments, ASIs, and all assigned screening tools in accordance with NEDHSA policy.

Attends in-service trainings for staff and completes required trainings in a timely manner while assisting with the collection of TOMS and QOC surveys, as assigned.

Completes written and electronic records with concurrent documentation.

Serves as backup to treatment, medical, and support staff at NEDHSA’s clinics as needed. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor and/or appointing authority as required.

Position-Specific Details Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty

Compensation: NEDHSA is a designated approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site. Clinicians who work at NHSC-approved sites are eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program to pay off student loans.

2-year Full-Time Clinical Practice: NHSC will pay up to $50,000* for an initial 2 years of full-time clinical practice to clinicians.

(Full-time clinical practice is defined as no less than 40 hours per week, for a minimum of 45 weeks per year.)
