Full-Time Position
This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient movement of patients throughout the UF Health Jacksonville system and affiliated locations. The EMS Transport Manager provides operational leadership, oversees staffing and resource allocation, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and promotes a culture of safety and quality. This role includes supervising EMS personnel, managing contracts with external providers, and collaborating with hospital departments to support seamless patient care transitions. The manager is also accountable for budget oversight, performance improvement initiatives, and maintaining 24/7 operational readiness.
Qualifications Required Education:
Associate's degree. Specific course work: Candidates that do not meet minimum education requirement must show proof of current enrollment at an accredited school and have obtained an Associate's Degree from an accredited School within two (2) years of date or hire or transfer into the position.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher
Necessary Skills
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop staff.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Proficient in problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making under high-pressure situations.
Knowledge of EMS regulations, compliance standards, and healthcare safety protocols.
Competence in EMS dispatch systems, operational software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to oversee multiple priorities and ensure operational efficiency.
Required Licensure/Certifications
Current Florida EMT or Paramedic License
BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross for paramedic
PALS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross for paramedic
Within six months of hire or transfer: Prehospital Trauma Life Support, Advanced Medical Life Support, FEMA IS 100, FEMA IS 200, Emergency Vehicle Operations Course, UF Health Jacksonville DECON training.
Preferred Licensure/Certifications
National Registry Paramedic
ACLS Instructor
PALS Instructor
PHTLS
Emergency Pediatric Care
Required Experience At least 3 years' EMS supervisory experience
Preferred Experience Experience in a high-volume EMS system or previous EMS supervisory experience
