Expected pay for this position is $42.64 - $56.50/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.
Overview There will be travel to agencies and classes
POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager Emergency Medical Services is responsible for coordinating, developing, implementing and teaching education for prehospital personnel, monitoring of the overall quality of prehospital care in the EMS System, instruction of limited public education (e.g., CPR) programs, EMS community groups as needed, and working to ensure the effectiveness of components of the EMS System.
Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in EMS management or equivalent experiences in the EMS field
Experience: 5-7 years of experience in emergency services
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in emergency medical education
Experience: Strong understanding of all EMS providers and ability to coordinate services provided by EMD, EMR, EMT-Basic, and Paramedic providers.
Licensure/ Certification: Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse or EMT-Paramedic
Licensure/ Certification: Provider certifications: American Health Association BLS for Healthcare Provider, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) AND Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) OR Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP)
Licensure/ Certification: Trauma Certification: Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) OR International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or within 90 days of hire.
Licensure/ Certification: Illinois Lead Instructor Licensure within 6 months of hire.
Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Other Skills/ Knowledge: Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
Other Skills/ Knowledge: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master's degree in EMS management or equivalent experiences in the EMS field
Experience: Ability to speak and present in groups numbering up to 40 people; Knowledge of Basic and Advance Life Support equipment
Licensure/ Certification: Instructor certifications: AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or within the 6 months of hire, if applicable to facility/market.
