Location: Seattle, WA 98122

Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Level III/IV
Start Date: November 10, 2025
End Date: March 2, 2026
Duration: 16-week contract
Shift: Days, 3×12-hour shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30)
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1830 – $1960
Patient Population: Neonates and infants, including those as early as 23-24 weeks gestation
Average Daily Census: 50 patients in a 77-bed NICU
NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of recent NICU nursing experience (at least 2 years in Level III or 1 year in Level IV NICU required)
Active Washington RN license or Compact State RN license
Current BLS and NRP certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred
Clinical proficiency in: blood/blood product administration, central/PICC line care, neonatal dosage calculations, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), feeding tubes, therapeutic hypothermia, and neonatal surgeries
Ability to float to other campuses (Issaquah, Edmonds) or to Pediatrics/Newborn units as needed (caring for infants only)
Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills
NICU RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill neonates and infants in a Level III/IV NICU setting
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team including respiratory therapists, physical therapists, pharmacy, and social services
Utilize advanced NICU equipment and procedures: high frequency ventilators, oscillators, CPAP/BiPAP, cooling/warming blankets, syringe pumps, and more
Attend high-risk deliveries and assist with neonatal surgeries
Administer blood products, manage central and PICC lines, and perform accurate neonatal dosage calculations
Float to other units as needed, with assignments focused on newborns and infants
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures
