Description
CTG is seeking to fill an Application Developer – Microsoft Analytics position for our client in New Castle, DE. Duration: 12 months.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence, data warehousing, and reporting solutions using Microsoft BI tools/products, including Power BI, Power BI Report Builder (Paginated), Power BI Embedded services, and SSRS.
Write complex queries and calculations using Power Query, DAX, R, and T‑SQL to support reporting and analytics requirements.
Build interactive reports and visualizations in Power BI, focusing on usability, performance, flexibility, testability, and standardization.
Implement security features and data governance practices within BI solutions.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, analyze data, and deliver actionable insights.
Troubleshoot and optimize existing reports and dashboards to enhance performance and reliability.
Skills
Strong expertise in Microsoft BI tools: Power BI, Power BI Report Builder (Paginated), Power BI Embedded services, and SSRS.
Proficient in SQL Server programming, T‑SQL, and relational database concepts.
Experience writing complex queries using Power Query, DAX, and R.
Knowledge of BI best practices, data modeling, and data warehousing principles.
Ability to implement security, optimize dashboards, and standardize reporting solutions.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
Experience
Proven experience in designing and developing BI and data warehousing solutions using Microsoft tools.
Hands‑on experience with Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
Experience in optimizing and securing BI solutions for performance, usability, and maintainability.
Previous experience collaborating with business and technical teams to deliver BI solutions.
Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
