The Section of Endocrinology at the John W. Deming Department of Medicine, Tulane University School of Medicine, is seeking a talented and motivated applicant with training and experience in epidemiology, population health biostatistics, bioinformatics, or the equivalent to join the research lab led by Dr. Yilin Yoshida. Dr. Yoshida’s research program focuses on sex/gender-based cardiometabolic epidemiology, with a major emphasis on investigating mechanisms underlying women’s excess risk of vascular complications in diabetes and identifying and testing intervention targets to improve diabetes management for men and women.
This is a full‑time position with a 2‑year service/training period and the possibility for yearly renewal dependent on performance and continued funding. The fellow’s time will be devoted to data analysis, manuscript preparation, grant application support, and career development.
Responsibilities
Data analysis of epidemiologic and clinical datasets.
Manuscript preparation and submission to peer‑reviewed journals.
Grant application support and development of research proposals.
Career development activities including conference presentations and networking.
Qualifications
Training and experience in epidemiology, population health biostatistics, bioinformatics, or an equivalent field.
Strong preference for candidates with research experience in cardiometabolic epidemiology.
Excellent statistical and data‑management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
