Position: Therapist Location: Salt Lake City, Utah – Onsite (This role is not eligible for Remote or Hybrid)
Starting Salary Range: $94,500 – this is a reasonable estimate. Final offers will be based on experience, education, certification, skills, and internal pay equity.
What’s the Role The Therapist will provide therapeutic support for clients with mental health, behavioural health, and substance abuse issues. All Therapy Services must be conducted in the office or at one of our support/crisis centre locations. Teletherapy is done in office.
Responsibilities
Conducting Assessments and Evaluations:
Perform comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations to diagnose mental health disorders and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Providing Individual and Group Therapy:
Offer evidence‑based individual therapy sessions tailored to each client. Facilitate group therapy sessions to provide support, build coping skills, and promote interpersonal growth.
Developing and Implementing Treatment Plans:
Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans outlining therapeutic goals and strategies. Review and adjust plans regularly based on client progress.
Maintaining Accurate and Confidential Records:
Document all client interactions, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information in accordance with legal, ethical, and organisational standards. Ensure all records remain confidential and secure.
Providing Crisis Intervention and Support:
Respond to clients in crisis situations with immediate therapeutic intervention to ensure safety and stability. Provide ongoing support and resources to help manage crises and prevent future occurrences.
Qualifications
Education and Licensure:
A Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is required. State licensure as a mental health professional (Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, etc.) is required.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of methods and techniques of interactive treatment for patients with mental health concerns; knowledge of clinical documentation requirements; knowledge of state and community resources for patients; knowledge of current concepts, theories, and terminology used in diagnosis and treatment of persons in need of behavioural health care.
Skills:
Strong leadership ability; excellent verbal and written communication; skills in evaluation of family dynamics, social influences, and interpersonal relationships; skills in interacting with clients, families, and community representatives during therapeutic intervention.
Abilities:
Ability to provide counseling interventions that build on individual and family strengths; ability to complete biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans; ability to assess risk, safety, and crisis situations and develop safety plans; ability to engage with diverse populations with cultural humility; ability to interface and collaborate with other departments.
Experience:
Experience providing on‑call crisis services is highly beneficial. Minimum of 2 years of mental health counseling or crisis intervention is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications in crisis intervention, drug and alcohol counselling, or trauma‑informed care are advantageous. Experience with a wide variety of clients is preferred.
