Position Summary
Under limited supervision, provides MH assessments, therapeutic services, and treatment recommendations to include crisis management and intervention. Coordinates mental health services in assigned areas. Maintains accurate documentation. Conducts individual counseling for inmates on the caseload. Conducts group counseling for specified inmates. Provides regular feedback to mental health, medical and security staff on referred inmates. Participates in multi‑disciplinary treatment team. Provides crisis intervention as requested by mental health and/or medical staff. Participates in the on‑call pool to provide after hour coverage to the institution. Provides discharge planning for identified inmates. Provides other duties related to SCDC and the Division of Behavioral/Mental Health. Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Qualifications
A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program.
Must successfully obtain license within 12 months of hire to sustain employment.
Two (2) years of experience in a mental health/social service setting and licensed as an LPC, LISW, LPC‑S or LMFT is preferred.
Minimum Requirements
A minimum of a master’s degree in a mental health related field (i.e. social work or counseling) and eligible for licensure to practice as an LPC‑I/A, LMSW, LMFTA, LPC, LISW, LMFT or LPCS with professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program.
Must successfully obtain license within 12 months of hire to sustain employment.
