Surgical Physician Assistant (Provider)
Care New England is seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant to join an inpatient surgical PA practice. The position is primarily based at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI, with additional opportunities at Women & Infants Hospital in Providence.
Responsibilities
Assist in surgeries across general, bariatric, colorectal, vascular, thoracic, and additional subspecialties as the service line expands.
Participate in operative assistance and inpatient management, including admissions, discharges, consults, and daily patient rounding.
Perform bedside procedures such as NG tube placement, wound VAC changes, and incision & drainage of abscesses.
Work a schedule of three 12‑hour shifts (6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.) with the possibility of one 12‑hour and one 24‑hour shift; rotating and shared weekend and holiday shifts to provide 24/7 coverage.
