Pediatric RN Job Details
Location: Dothan, Alabama (36301)
Unit: 3 Central Pediatrics (7 beds, census 3-7)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: November 10, 2025
End Date: February 9, 2026
Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 3 shifts/week
Hours per Week: 36
Weekend Coverage: Required (12 weekend shifts per contract)
Orientation: 16 hours
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1470 - $1570
Pediatric Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Alabama RN license or eligibility to obtain (submit with license pending)
Minimum 1 year of recent pediatric nursing experience (2 years preferred)
Travel nursing experience preferred; strong candidates without travel experience will be considered
BLS and PALS certifications required
Experience with adult GYN/Med Surg patients is a plus
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions for COVID-19 only)
Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
Pediatric RN Responsibilities
Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients (neonates, infants, children, adolescents) and occasional adult GYN/Med Surg patients
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, social services, and rapid response teams
Monitor patient status, administer medications, and document clinical care accurately
Educate and support patient families throughout the care process
Participate in unit orientation and complete required training modules
Float within scope of practice as needed for clinical support
