Responsibilities
Spring Mountain Sahara is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The CNA is the clinical staff member who interacts with patients on a daily basis. They provide structure, safety, and support while following hospital and unit procedures and managing patient behavior effectively. The CNA assists, supervises, and performs activities of daily living while supporting nurses, activity therapists, and other departments.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Ensure the well‑being of patients and provide a positive, supportive and structured environment under the direction of a charge nurse or supervisor.
Complete patient observation rounds timely. Observation may be assigned every 15 minutes, within reach of patient and/or 1:1 patient care.
Assist with transferring, lifting, raising, or turning patients.
Obtain patient’s vital signs, height and weight as assigned and ensure accurate documentation.
Engage with patient in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
Apply de‑escalation techniques to help manage patient’s emotions, behavior, and participation in treatment and assist with seclusion and restraints when necessary.
Monitor behavioral improvements and reinforce these behaviors. Report changes and responses to treatment by communicating with the team. Significant changes are reported to nurse immediately.
Reinforce skills patients learn from nurses, physicians, and therapists that promote improved physical and mental wellness.
Ensure comfort, dignity, privacy and perform related CNA duties such as feed, bath, dress, groom, move patients or change linens.
Provide transfer or transportation for patient or coordinate transportation with appropriate staff member, as required.
Follow established policies, procedures and standards for patient care.
Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
Perform other duties as assigned or required by this position.

About Spring Mountain Treatment Center Spring Mountain Behavioral Services has provided mental health services to the Las Vegas community since 2001, treating children, teens, adults, and senior adults with behavioral health or addiction issues. We offer a supportive and healthy environment with 24‑hour care that allows people of all ages to make positive changes in their lives. Our primary location focuses on the stabilization of acute symptoms for patients ages 5 to 65, along with select outpatient care programs for teens. Our secondary location houses our Adult Outpatient and Senior Adult Inpatient programs.
Spring Mountain Treatment Center is a 110‑bed mental health facility that provides acute crisis stabilization services for adults, teens, and children in a secure inpatient setting. Our individualized treatment includes a structured, therapeutic environment, intensive physician involvement and oversight, and daily group and educational programs. We provide a caring and healthy environment that gives individuals a chance to make positive changes.

Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required
Must have an active CNA license from the Nevada State Nursing Board
B.S./B.A. in behavioral health science preferred
One year of experience in a psychiatric setting/patient care preferred
Obtain BLS Basic Life Support certification
Good communication skills, i.e., reading, writing, and speaking
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and stand for long periods of time
Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
Basic PC knowledge and medical terminology
Good leadership qualities which include self‑control, patience, and empathy
New hires are required to attend 1 full week of new employee orientation on day shift, normally 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
Must successfully pass background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check)
