Location: Morrison Healthcare at Ochsner Medical Center
Setting: Acute care hospital
Schedule: Part time – anticipated need is 1‑3 days/week, including weekend and holiday rotation
Position Details: The formula tech is responsible for the infant feeding room, including the preparation, distribution, inventory, and management of human/donor milk and/or infant formula.
Job Summary
We are seeking a part time Formula Tech to join our nutrition team in an acute care medical center in New Orleans, LA. Key Responsibilities
Preparation, distribution, inventory, and management of human/donor milk and/or infant formula Responsible for the associated sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices that ensure proper enteral/oral formula and breast milk preparation Calculates formulations or standardized recipes manually or via the use of specifically designed software Follows all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual Complies with all regulatory standards to include federal, state, and accrediting agencies, while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies Participates in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs Qualifications
Credentialed as a Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (NDTR) or Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related science, preferred Healthcare experience preferred Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft office applications, electronic medical records, diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming Equal Opportunity Employer
