is seeking a

Senior Accountant

for a premier Arkansas-based retail company. The perfect candidate will have 3-5+ years in general accounting, including month end, reconciliations, and ap, ar, preferably for multiple sets of books/locations.

This is a new role for the company due to fast growth!

The chosen

Senior Accountant

will lead general ledger management, month-end reconciliations, and financial reporting to ensure accurate and timely financial insights for decision-making. This role demands advanced accounting expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff while collaborating across departments.

Responsibilities

Oversee general ledger maintenance, including posting complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and ensuring ledger accuracy and completeness.

Manage full month-end close process, including preparation of reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, flux analysis, and variance explanations.

Prepare and deliver key financial reports, such as P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow analyses, and management reports for leadership review.

Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvements or cost savings.

Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal teams to support annual audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.

Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance on best practices and ensuring adherence to GAAP and internal controls.

Implement and optimize accounting systems, workflows, and automation tools to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting roles.

Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP) and Excel; experience with BI tools a plus.

In‑depth knowledge of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and internal controls.

Proven leadership skills, with experience supervising teams and managing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities, with a detail‑oriented approach.
