Senior Project Accountant – Construction Accounting
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our team. This exciting opportunity will see you working within our construction division, specifically focusing on multifamily projects. You will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. This role is permanent and full‑time, offering a fantastic opportunity for career growth and development.
Job Details Salary: \$70,000 – \$100,000 per year.
Employment type: Full‑time.
Location: Milton, GA.
Responsibilities
Oversee all financial aspects of our multifamily construction projects, from start to finish.
Manage job costing processes, ensuring that all costs are accurately recorded and tracked.
Prepare and process invoices, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
Conduct year‑end close procedures, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up‑to‑date.
Maintain the ledger, recording all financial transactions and ensuring accuracy.
Utilize Timberline and Viewpoint software to manage and track project finances.
Manage Work in Progress (WIP) schedules, tracking project progress and costs.
Handle Time and Material (T&M) billing and change orders, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
Process lien waivers, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and filed.
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.
Provide financial reports and updates to senior management, as required.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
Proven experience with job costing, invoicing, year‑end close procedures, and ledger maintenance.
Experience with Timberline and Viewpoint software.
Familiarity with WIP schedules, T&M billing, change orders, and lien waivers.
Strong understanding of the financial aspects of construction projects, particularly multifamily projects.
Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
