You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and serve as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support daily operations, including donor eligibility, adverse event management, lab test review, and donor notification of unsuitable results.
Responsibilities
Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency facilities.
Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance, including donor safety and eligibility.
Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for staff.
Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation procedures, referencing EHS guidance.
Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate degree from a state‑approved nursing program.
Current licensed or certified in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
Current CPR and AED certification.
Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
Complete FDA‑approved training for the BioLife Medical Support Specialist role.
At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
Benefits & Compensation
Hourly wage range: $23.85 – $32.79.
Medical/dental, vision, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage; 401(k) with company match.
Paid time off, sick time (up to 80 hours per year), paid vacation (up to 120 hours for new hires).
