About You
As a Fixed Asset Accountant, you are responsible for managing and owning the full fixed asset accounting cycle. This includes preparing and maintaining detailed asset records, performing balance sheet reconciliations, participating in month‑end close activities, and ensuring SOX compliance. The role also involves researching and resolving technical accounting issues while supporting both the accounting department and restaurant operations with accurate and timely financial information.

Your Day in the Life
Review, validate, and apply capitalization policies to CapEx invoices from multiple sources, resolving discrepancies as needed.
Partner with cross‑functional teams including Operations, Accounting, and Facilities to ensure capital expenditures are properly classified and recorded, providing guidance when questions arise.
Maintain the fixed asset subledger by recording additions, disposals, transfers, and project closures, using judgment to identify items requiring reclassification or follow‑up.
Calculate and record monthly depreciation and amortization using the company’s fixed asset management system, ensuring asset lives and methods align with policy.
Prepare and reconcile all fixed asset and construction‑in‑progress (CIP) accounts, analyzing variances and recommending corrections.
Review invoices for proper sales tax treatment and record use tax accruals as needed, using research and interpretation when guidance is unclear.
Support restaurant and field operations with asset‑related inquiries and provide clear guidance on capitalization standards and procedures.
Maintain organized documentation and processes to ensure adherence to SOX internal controls and support internal and external audits, identifying gaps and raising improvements when needed.
Hybrid role with 2‑3 days per week in our Support Office in Broomfield, Colorado. Seeking candidates who reside locally or are open to relocating.
What You Bring to the Team
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a general accounting role that involved applying accounting policies and making informed recommendations.
Experience in the restaurant, retail, or hospitality industries is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a particular emphasis on Excel.
Experience with Microsoft Business Central and Service Channel preferred.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret data and resolve issues independently.
Familiarity with accounting concepts relevant to fixed assets, including capitalization and depreciation principles.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and make sound decisions with limited oversight.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Willingness to work additional hours during period‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end as needed.
