ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Exemplifies the Wake Forest Baptist Health (WFBH) Values and Code of Conduct, while striving to identify compliance risk through department‑led risk assessments, system monitoring, and periodic audits, and reporting any identified violation to Legal Services and Corporate Compliance Departments.
Ensures immediate action on any issues identified through a self‑assessment or by Legal Services or Corporate Compliance; develops or revises policies as necessary; and fosters a positive, compliant work environment for all employees.
Leads in Clinical Competence, Human Resources, Financial Management, Planning, Continuous Quality Improvement, and Customer Service, while modeling and mentoring future nurse administrators and clinical leaders.
Manages planning, development, and implementation of an approved operational and capital budget, identifies needs, assesses feasibility, and makes appropriate recommendations.
Collaborates with the System CNE, entity CNO, and Medical Directors to develop long‑range strategic plans, participate in board presentations, and evaluate the implications of strategic objectives.
Oversight of key functions for designated departments, units, programs, and outpatient clinics, including development of policies and procedures, professional governance, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Builds collaborative partnerships across the institution and beyond, partners with Finance and other operating groups, and may serve on standing committees and councils.
Monitors patient satisfaction and perception of care, while serving as a professional manager of resources and environment and facilitating clinical practice of nursing.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
Master's degree in Nursing, Health Care Management, or Business Administration required.
Doctorate in Nursing (DNP/PhD) preferred, DNP preferred over PhD.
Five years of experience in relevant nursing areas with management or supervisory experience in an academic medical center or tertiary hospital setting required.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR REGISTRATION Current RN license in good standing in the applicable state.
Certification in administration or clinical specialty within one year of hire.
