Unit: Med/Surg 2A
Location: BMC South (Brockton)
Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse assigned, performs a variety of direct patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comforts of the patient. Provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly as well as accommodating a variety of needs specific to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, language barriers, and potential victims of abuse. Incorporates knowledge and understanding of our commitment to patient rights, exceptional care and the hospital's values and mission into his/her performance of job duties. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Required Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to communicate effectively in English with staff and patients
Prioritizing multiple requests to ensure timeliness and provide exceptional patient care
Compassion, empathy and responsiveness to the needs of a variety of patients
Education High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience Experience as a nursing assistant strongly preferred.
Certification/Licensure Must possess a valid Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant license or show proof of enrollment in an accredited nursing school and completion of the courses "Fundamentals of Nursing I & II".
Software/Hardware Computer experience preferred. CPR.
Compensation Range $17.62- $26.18
This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
