Who will you be working with?

Wabtec employees at the Pomona location operate in a team environment in the digital electronic and component field of creating productive and reliable transportation. Our Wabtec facility includes highly sophisticated production processes that integrate advanced manufacturing technologies with precision assembly techniques. Team members collaborate across engineering, production, and quality assurance functions to deliver innovative products that meet the evolving demands on the transportation industry.

How will you make a difference?

As a material handler, your responsibilities include an array of materials functions that may include receiving, processing incoming stock, picking and processing work orders, picking and packing shipping orders, cycle counting, and general warehouse maintenance. The position requires the employee to be on‑site during the scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM

What do we want to know about you?

You will perform warehouse and material handling duties including receiving, stocking, picking, issuing, packaging and shipping to support manufacturing requirements. They will also be responsible for inventory accuracy, ordering, receiving and shipping transactions. The role is responsible to perform work in a safe manner in support of lean manufacturing principles such as but not limited to 6S or single piece flow to required takt time. Employees will perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

Perform work in a safe manner in compliance with all safety and EHS guidelines and policies

Responsible for the quality of work performed, from prescribed methods, quality and planning instruction in oral and/or written form

Perform physical and transactional inventory receiving, issuing, picking, packaging, shipping and consignment processing of material using Oracle ERP System

Maintain inventory levels and support demand requirements by monitoring and maintaining stock levels; transferring material within plant and/or to/from off‑site warehouse and issuing material to work orders as required

Ensure data accuracy in inventory transactions

Perform cycle counting audits to ensure inventory accuracy and assist in reconciliation, root cause identification and execution of corrective actions

Physically prepare, visually inspect and package material for safe transport to customers and outside vendors

Use cranes, forklifts and electric pallet jacks to unload and load packaging and tractor‑trailers in a safe, but timely manner

Support Lean Initiatives within plant to streamline material related processes

Sign‑off on the process documentation for each of the work steps performed

Process components in compliance with internal processing requirements

Maintain acceptable defect rates

Successfully complete training requirements

Perform all other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of related experience in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge of EHS procedures and policies

Knowledge of safe use of manual equipment and hand tools for assigned product lines

Must possess sufficient skills to perform basic mathematical calculation

Must have Forklift and Crane Certification and be able to safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts, medium and small sized motor vehicles

Must have ability to work with computers (Microsoft Office, Excel skills, Oracle)

Demonstrated ability to work independently

Demonstrate ability to safely complete job tasks utilizing lifting cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks

Successful completion of quality audit to internal procedures on assigned product line and/or use of equipment

Knowledge of safe use manual equipment and hand tools for assigned product lines

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Attention to detail and numbers oriented; team player, customer focused
