We’re currently seeking a Field Service Technician based in Richmond, VA to support our growing Industrial division. This role will primarily serve our Key Account customer base across the East Coast, including MD, CT, and NY, with the potential to support future sites as new locations open. When not traveling, you’ll work onsite from our Richmond office, providing remote support and assisting with service needs. As the face of Bizerba within your region, you’ll perform scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, and equipment installations for systems such as industrial scales, X‑ray systems, metal detectors, vision systems, touch screens, and labelers. This position requires a customer‑focused mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you’re fully equipped for success in the role.
Perform equipment installations, service, and preventive maintenance at customer sites — locally, across the East Coast, and nationwide as needed.
Travel at a moment’s notice when urgent service support is required.
Maintain personal parts inventory and ensure annual counts remain within a -5% variance.
Provide remote and on‑site technical support for customers and distributors, including participation in a rotating on‑call schedule and monitoring shared service emails.
Deliver equipment demonstrations and training for operators and maintenance teams.
Communicate technical issues and collaborate with the Industrial Division on resolutions.
Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, service reports, and project updates.
Meet company objectives related to budget, reporting, and profitability.
Ensure timely and detailed logging of work orders, service activities, and expenses in ADP, SIS, and Concur.
Maintain company vehicle, tools, and spare parts in excellent working condition.
Your profile
Associate degree or equivalent from a two‑year technical school or college
Strong electrical and mechanical skills are a must.
Able to travel frequently, up to several hours of driving per day, possibly. Must be open to on‑call and occasional weekends and/or overnight travel. Typical travel is 50-80% plus overnight. (Food stipend and travel expenses covered)
Excellent customer service skills, as this position acts as the “face” of the Company.
Must possess basic computer skills and knowledge.
High level of integrity and work ethic, including being energetic and self‑motivated
Able to work independently and remotely with project teams.
Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to successfully pass a criminal background and driving record check, as well as a pre‑employment drug screen.
