The Cost Estimator II will collaborate closely with the sales team to comprehend customer needs, provide cost estimation, recommendation of appropriate solutions, and develop detailed technical proposals for customized machining solutions.

Roles And Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates and comprehensive written quotes for products

Perform preliminary system sizing quotations of custom machinery including filter tank volumes, pump sizing, and temperature control units

Contact suppliers to obtain key component pricing

Accompany Sales Representatives to customer sites to gather detailed project information

Utilize technical knowledge to clarify terminology and supply or obtain missing information from Sales Representatives

Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to incorporate their inputs into quotations and coordinate pricing for proposals

Assist in creating proposal drawings as needed

Conduct special projects such as market studies, product analysis, marketing communications, and promotional activities

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in machine cost estimating or equivalent combination of education and experience

Demonstrated skills in mechanical design, including knowledge of mechanical systems and principles

Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite; Microsoft Word and Excel

Experience with drafting software such as AutoCAD

Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve detailed issues

Ability to prioritize competing priorities to meet expectations of stakeholders

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Salesforce

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP
